Where do you get your information?
Questing Stone is a community-based site. All of our information is submitted by our users, then double-checked by our moderators. Some of your information about a place is incorrect, what do I do? Please go to the profile in question and click on the "Fix It" button. This will allow you let us know which profile is incorrect and tell us what's incorrect. Thank you for helping to keep Questing Stone up to date! I just submitted a new profile, why isn't it showing up? Once a profile is submitted it needs to be reviewed by one of our moderators before it can be displayed. Our goal is to complete each review within 48 hours. How do I report an error? Submit a feedback. There is a link at the bottom of every page or you can click here. What is the difference between "fix it" and "feedback"? Fix its are for dining and nightlife data accuracy issues only Feedback is for suggestions and or questions about the rest of Questing Stone. Why are my new profiles moderated? Profiles are moderated only to insure data accuracy. How do I become a moderator? Click here. This is our interpretation of these terms, to ensure consistency throughout the site. If you feel that something needs to be added or changed please feel free to submit a feedback, but be prepared to make a solid argument for the change. Checkdown: We created a interface that consists of a dropdown of checkboxes. This unique system allows for people to select multiple options in a long list. Establishment types: As much as we would love to accept every establishment type there is, it just isn't practical. We would like to keep our list short and sweet. Complex: A complex is a large facility that has multiple types of places in one building under the same name. For example a complex might have a restaurant on one floor and a dance club upstairs. Take-out: Questing Stone uses this term for more than just places that have take-out. It is used to differentiate between full-size restaurants and really small places that may have a counter or a few tables but their focus is take-out. When a place has multiple hours, what do I list? List the general open-to-close hours and make note of whatever changes take place. Food type for Doughnut shops? Pastry Food type for Bagel shops? Bagels are listed as "Breakfast (All Day)" and then list the word "bagel" in the "Featured Dish" field. If the food type I need to enter a place is not listed, what do I do? Scroll to the bottom of the food types checkdown. There is a field labeled "New Option". Check the box next to the New Option field and type in your preference. We may not approve it if something similar is already included, but if we don't already have or something like it chances are we'll add it. Why was my New Option for food type rejected? As much as Questing Stone would like to include every food option there is, it just isn't practical. We had to draw a line somewhere. The following are the guidelines we use when deciding whether or not to accept a new food type. Is it a country? We'll almost always accept a food type of a specific country. Doesn't it have solid distinction from the rest of the food types already listed? I'm shy. Do I have to call places to get complete info? No, our moderators would appreciate you providing as much information as you can but if you're not comfortable with contacting someone, we'll take care of it. I found a place with a cool activity that you guys don't have listed as a checkbox, what do I do? You can always list any additional information in the Details box. That way those places can still be found via the keyword search. Who knows, if we get enough keyword hits, we may add the item to our search criteria. What fields are required for submitting a profile? Name Street Address and we'd prefer at least a phone number or website so at least our moderators have a better chance of obtaining the rest of the data If a place has separate hours for the kitchen and the bar, which hours do I put in? Always list the outermost hours. Use the earliest time for opening and the latest time for closing. Feel free to elaborate in the profile details section, for example: "Kitchen closes at 10 p.m.". I'm shy. Do I have to call places to get complete info? Yes. You don't have to call every place just to verify the info provided, but if your profile is missing info required to post you do need to call. - Approval requirements - hours address phone number Establishment Type My question wasn't listed here, what do I do? Submit a feedback. |
